One of the coolest things about living in Tualatin is the annual Tualatin Crawfish Festival. It's usually held the last weekend in July or first weekend in August. The festival is a great community event and you will not want to miss. The 26,000 resident town has great shops, schools, restaurants, and a brand new Cabela's outdoor store right off Nyberg street.
The median home price currently in Tualatin is $345,500, which equates to around $171 per square foot. This compares very well to the Portland metro average of $170. The median age of residents is 34.6 years, with the average family size being 3.12 persons.
In the 1850s the settlement was first called Galbreath, after its founder Samuel Galbreath. The name was later changed to Bridgeport after Samuel built the first bridge across the Tualatin River. Later in the 1880s, John Sweek platted a town around a railroad depot that was being built and named the town Tualatin after the Tualatin River.
